Thank you for visiting my website and allowing me to tell you a bit about my experience and qualifications.
I have been a New Mexico real estate broker since 1987. As an Associate Broker, I sold real estate full time at RECA/Better Homes and Gardens in Rio Rancho from 1987 to 1989. In 1990, I changed my status from an Associate Broker to a Qualifying Broker and opened my own real estate brokerage, Felker & Associates, LLC. From 1994-2008, as an independent Qualifying Broker under my brokerage, I sold residential real estate full time. I specialized in resale homes, new homes, custom homes, and residential land. I still hold a New Mexico Qualifying Broker’s license.
In 2008, I earned New Mexico Real Estate Commission (NMREC) instructor certifications to teach the New Mexico pre-licensing real estate courses, Real Estate Law, Real Estate Principles and Practice, and Broker Basics, and I have taught all of these courses since then. In 2011, I was approved to teach the New Broker Business Practices course.
Teaching is my passion. Realizing that curriculum development, instructional design, and effective and meaningful assessments were extremely important to the success of my real estate students, from 2008-2013 I attended Eastern New Mexico University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree and my Master’s degree in Professional-Technical Education. My education has enhanced my skills so that my students have a high rate of success.
In addition to utilizing the most up to date and proven instructional methods that help my students succeed, I love to develop curriculum, research real estate topics, write white papers, design instructional activities, compose exam questions, and format materials such as course manuals. I enjoy attending real estate office meetings to present and discuss relevant real estate issues.
I own a real estate school where I teach the New Broker Business Practices course. In addition, I work at Central New Mexico Workforce Training Center where I teach the prelicense real estate courses, and I teach various business courses at Central New Mexico Community College.
My husband and I live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and we love to spend time with our family…our two daughters, our son-in-laws, and six grandchildren.
Real estate is an extremely exciting and rewarding career. From my years of working full time in residential real estate, I bring my real-life examples into the classroom, which help my students learn on a deeper, more meaningful level.
